The Benmar 2000 - Marine Autopilot Control System was recognized nationwide by the Industrial Designers Society of America as an outstanding example of design achievement. "It makes a significant contribution to the reputation of US design, therefore, we awarded the Autopilot Control Design a Certificate of Recognition for Design Achievement in the Equipment category, honored in the IDEA89 program."

The autopilot design is a modular system, allowing the captain to keep a boat on course, automatically.

A remote handset is an integral component in the system and can be mounted in any convenient location. Touch-switch controls are sealed against salt water with an innovatively molded silicone rubber skin, making the entire package soft and pleasant to use.
